  • 30HOUR CHILDCARE OFFER.

This summer term NYCC is piloting the 30hour extended childcare offer proposed by the Government.  This offer applies to children aged 3 or 4, both of whose parents work at least 16hours at the minimum wage or the equivalent hours to earn the same amount at a higher salary.  All eligible families need to apply online between 6th and 31st March.  Please see the letter handed out from North Yorkshire County Council.

  • LOTS OF SOCKS FOR DOWN SYNDROME DAY – Tuesday 21st March

Please help your child wear ‘Lots of socks’ on Tuesday.  We will gather donations of £1 for this.  We also plan activities around socks.  Please ask staff if you wish your child to attend when they do not normally do so.

  • TRAIN RIDE AND WALK – MONDAY 3RD APRIL

Lots of our children are interested in trains at the moment so we plan to catch the train from Castleton station to Commondale and walk back along the footpath (Pushchair friendly).  Please meet at Castleton Station at 9.15am.  We cannot attempt this without the support of parents/carers so all are welcome to join us.  Please see staff if you are unable to attend but wish your child to attend as we can accommodate some unaccompanied children.  Please wear sturdy footwear/wellies and protective clothing.

  • Friday 7th April – Music lady visit.

Cathy will attend the session and all are welcome to join us.

  • FIRE STATION VISIT: Thursday 9th March.

Meet at the Fire Station in Ainthorpe at 9am.  To make this trip possible we need support from parents both whilst at the station and in transporting children from the station back to Esklets at about 10.30 to 11am.  Everyone is welcome even if Thursday is not your normal day.  Please sign up on the poster at Esklets to say if you can stay for the outing and if you can provide transport back to playgroup.  If you are unable to attend with your child please tell staff as we can accommodate a number of unaccompanied children.  Many, many thanks for your support and also to the firemen/women who are giving up their own time to open up the station.

  • PLAYGROUP MEETING – WEDNESDAY 15TH MARCH

7.30PM at THE FOX AND HOUNDS, AINTHORPE.

Please support Esklets by attending this meeting.  We have much to discuss including the ‘30hours childcare offer’.  See attached agenda.

  • 30HOUR CHILDCARE OFFER.

This summer term NYCC is piloting the 30hour extended childcare offer proposed by the Government.  This offer applies to children both of whose parents work at least 16hours at the minimum wage or the equivalent hours to earn the same amount at a higher salary.  The offer applies from the term after the child’s 3rd birthday.  This offer can be split between providers.  We are presently attending briefing sessions about the impact of the 30 hours and how it will affect Esklets.  Please could all parents fill in the attached survey even if your child is not eligible at the moment, and especially if your child will become eligible in the future.  We need to know exactly what parents want, in order to plan what we can provide whilst still remaining viable.  All eligible families need to apply online between 6th and 31st March.  Please see the letter handed out from North Yorkshire County Council.
